Pixar's Inside Out 2 continued its dominance at the domestic box office, raking in an impressive $57.4 million in its third weekend. The film has also surpassed $1 billion in global ticket sales, setting a new record for animated films in just 19 days. Directed by Kelsey Mann, the sequel introduces a new set of emotions as Riley enters her teenage years, bringing about a mix of Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment to join Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust in headquarters. Amy Poehler leads the star-studded voice cast.
Meanwhile, A Quiet Place: Day One enjoyed a strong opening weekend with $53 million, surpassing expectations and drawing in a diverse audience with positive reviews and a B+ CinemaScore. The film, directed by Michael Sarnoski, marks a successful start to the June box office, following the success of Inside Out 2 and Sony's Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Kevin Costner's Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter One, however, struggled with an estimated $11 million opening, facing challenges with reviews and a B- CinemaScore. Costner's ambitious passion project is a summer curiosity, with Chapter Two set to release soon in a unique distribution scheme.
