Tamayo Perry, a well-known surfer, lifeguard, and actor, tragically passed away at the age of 49 after being attacked by a shark in Hawaii's Mālaekahana Beach. Perry, who had roles in popular films like “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and “Blue Crush,” was described as a beloved lifeguard with an infectious personality by Honolulu Ocean Safety acting chief Kurt Lager. Perry had been working as a lifeguard since 2016 and had been a professional surfer for over a decade. Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi expressed his condolences, calling Perry a legendary waterman and highly respected member of the community. Shark warning posters were posted in the area following the attack, as a precaution. Perry is survived by his wife, Emilia Perry, and leaves behind a legacy of passion for the ocean and surfing.
