Prime Video has made the decision to cancel the unique series 'Outer Range' after two seasons, which blended western and sci-fi elements. The show, starring Josh Brolin as a Wyoming rancher facing a mysterious black void on his property and a rival family dispute, was well-received by audiences.
Although not as popular as other Prime Video hits like Fallout and Reacher, 'Outer Range' performed satisfactorily, spending several weeks in Nielsen's top 10 original streaming series rankings. The decision to pull the plug on the show comes just two months after the second season's premiere with a binge release.
With a talented ensemble cast and production by Amazon MGM Studios and Plan B Entertainment, the series was a collaborative effort from top industry figures. Despite the cancellation, 'Outer Range' leaves behind a legacy of intriguing storytelling and solid viewer engagement.
