Disney has officially announced the start of production on the highly anticipated sequel to the hit 2003 film, Freaky Friday. The new movie will see Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis returning to reprise their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman, who famously swapped bodies in the original film. Joining them are original cast members Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. The sequel will follow Anna, now a mother herself, as she navigates the challenges of merging two families after Tess and Anna experience another body-swapping incident. Additional cast members for the sequel include Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. Director Nisha Ganatra is set to helm the film for Disney, set for a nationwide theatrical release in 2025. Fans can expect a fun and exciting continuation of the beloved original story with a new twist.
