Composer Nomi Abadi has filed a second lawsuit against her former mentor Danny Elfman, this time for defamation. Abadi originally sued Elfman for allegedly failing to pay parts of a $830,000 sexual harassment settlement and has now taken legal action over comments Elfman made to Rolling Stone denying the claims. Abadi first accused Elfman of sexual misconduct in 2017, resulting in a settlement the following year. In a recent lawsuit, Abadi alleges that Elfman spread lies about her, portraying her as a woman seeking revenge and money. Elfman's statement denies any wrongdoing, citing a misunderstanding of intentions leading to allegations. Additionally, a second woman named Jane Doe XX has accused Elfman of sexual misconduct from 1997 to 2002, leading to further legal complications for the composer. Elfman is represented by Camille Vasquez, known for her work with Johnny Depp.
