In the misbegotten film "Fly Me to the Moon," starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, the creators blend romantic comedy, historical drama, and conspiracy thriller into a messy 132-minute-long disaster. The plot involves a far-fetched conspiracy to fake the Apollo 11 moon landing, with Johansson playing an ad executive recruited to help NASA sell the idea. Tatum plays the launch director, adding a love story element. Veteran director Greg Berlanti struggles to make the nonsensical plot engaging, with the wild tonal shifts leaving viewers bewildered. While Johansson brings some charm to her character, Tatum falls short in charisma. The film, initially set for streaming, may attract audiences solely based on its star power. Unfortunately, despite the A-list cast, "Fly Me to the Moon" fails to lift off as a coherent or entertaining production.
