Google has announced that starting later this month, dark web reports for stolen account information will be available to anyone with a Google account for free. Previously, this service was only accessible to Google One subscribers. The move is part of Google's efforts to help users protect their online presence by providing a combined solution to monitor personal information leaks. While Google One users will lose this benefit, all Google users will now have access to dark web monitoring. Although there are other services available for monitoring data breaches, having Google's monitoring features in one place can be convenient for users. This change also marks the removal of two perks for Google One subscribers, including the recent addition of a VPN service, leading to some disappointment among subscribers.
