Legendary coach Jeff Tedford is stepping down as Fresno State's head football coach just over a month before the 2024 college football season due to health issues. In his second stint with the Bulldogs, Tedford led the team to a 45-22 record over five seasons. Assistant coach Tim Skipper will take over as the interim head coach for the upcoming season. Fresno State, aiming for a fourth consecutive nine-win season, opens the season against Michigan on August 31. Tedford, known for developing top quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers, coached at Cal before returning to Fresno State. Despite a strong start in 2023, the Bulldogs struggled towards the end of the season, finishing with a 1-3 record in the final four games. The team returns key starters on offense and defense and signed impressive recruits for the 2024 season.
