Klay Thompson's transfer to the Dallas Mavericks has been confirmed in a six-team sign-and-trade deal involving the Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, and Minnesota Timberwolves. After 13 successful seasons with the Warriors, Thompson signed a lucrative three-year, $50 million contract with the Mavericks.
Throughout his tenure with the Warriors, Thompson achieved great success, earning five All-Star appearances and contributing to four NBA Championships. In the 2023-24 season, he averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 77 games. Joining a Mavericks team that made it to the NBA Finals but lost to the Boston Celtics, Thompson's addition is expected to strengthen their roster and bolster their chances of contending for a championship.
