Former Toronto Raptors player Jontay Porter has pleaded guilty to a federal felony charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The 24-year-old apologized for his actions, admitting they were unlawful. Porter is facing a potential 41 to 51 months in prison, with a final sentencing scheduled for December. He also faces significant restitution and fines. Porter's involvement in betting-related irregularities led to his NBA ban in April. He is connected to a case involving four other men accused of profiting from prop bets using inside information about Porter's game exits. Porter, who has sought therapy for a gambling addiction, allegedly agreed to receive a portion of the ill-gotten gains due to mounting gambling debts. The defendants have yet to enter pleas in the ongoing case. Porter, who averaged 4.4 points for the Raptors, was on a two-way contract earning $415K last season.
