'Microsoft Boosts Performance on Copilot Plus PCs by Removing Unnecessary Features'

Microsoft launched a new range of Copilot Plus PCs featuring a dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard, marking the first significant change to Windows keyboards in 30 years. However, the key now only launches a Progressive Web App (PWA) version of Copilot instead of the integrated Windows experience users were accustomed to. This new PWA lacks the ability to control Windows 11 settings or be docked as a sidebar. Microsoft has even removed the keyboard shortcut to Copilot on these new PCs. Many users had hoped for a more versatile key that could launch shortcuts to apps or AI-powered features. Microsoft has not provided a clear explanation for this shift, but claims that pinning Copilot to the taskbar improves the user experience. Overall, the transition from an integrated Windows feature to a standalone web app with limited functionality has left users disappointed.
