'RCS Support in iOS 18 Beta Delayed: What Users Need to Know'

iOS 18, announced by Apple at WWDC 2024, will bring support for RCS - Rich Communication Services - to the iPhone. This feature allows users to send rich messages with audio and larger media files to Android users, although messages will still appear with green bubbles. However, beta users may have to wait longer to enable RCS on their iPhones as the feature wasn't available in the first beta release. The second beta now includes an RCS toggle in the Settings app for some users, suggesting that RCS support relies on carrier partners updating their bundles. Currently, only a few carriers have updated their bundles to support RCS on the iPhone, indicating that most beta users may not be able to test the feature. Public beta testing for iOS 18 will begin next month, with the official release expected in September.
