'RCS Support Rolling Out for iPhone Users with iOS 18 Beta 2 on US Carriers'
Tech & AI | June 26, 2024, 3:53 a.m.
Apple is gearing up to introduce RCS support on the iPhone with the upcoming iOS 18, but mobile carriers also need to update their systems for this feature to work. Some US carriers have already made the update, enabling RCS for users running the latest iOS 18 beta. With RCS, iPhone users can send richer messages and media files to Android users, along with read receipts. However, this feature is currently only available for users with AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. To enable RCS on your iPhone, make sure you have updated to iOS 18 beta 2 and are using one of these carriers. If the RCS toggle isn't showing up for you, it may be because your carrier has not yet updated their system. Keep an eye out for the public release of iOS 18 this fall for wider RCS support.
