1Password, the popular password manager, has introduced a new feature allowing users to generate QR Codes for sharing Wi-Fi passwords with others effortlessly. The app automatically creates a QR Code for Wi-Fi credentials once users input the “Network Name” and “Network Password”. By scanning the QR Code with their devices, guests can easily connect to the Wi-Fi network without needing to type in the password.
In comparison, Apple’s upcoming iOS 18 will also include a similar Wi-Fi credential sharing feature in its standalone Passwords app. However, 1Password’s QR Code sharing feature is already available across various platforms, including iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux.
While Apple’s Passwords app is free, 1Password offers advanced features like storing credit card data and secure notes, making it a valuable tool for users. Stay updated with the latest version of 1Password to start sharing Wi-Fi credentials effortlessly with QR Codes.
