Comedian and actor Jay Johnston, known for his roles in Anchorman and Bob's Burgers, has pleaded guilty to obstructing officers during the 6 January US Capitol riot. Johnston, with a successful career in Hollywood dating back to the 1990s, faces up to five years in federal prison and is set to be sentenced in October. The 55-year-old's involvement was confirmed by internet sleuths and authorities, who stated he participated in assaulting police officers and stealing a riot shield. After being fired from Bob's Burgers in December, Johnston's popular character, Jimmy Pesto, was recast. Over 540 Capitol riot participants have already served time behind bars, highlighting the serious consequences faced by individuals involved in the violent events on that day. Johnston's guilty plea is part of a larger effort by authorities to hold accountable those responsible for the chaos that unfolded in Washington DC.
