Aer Lingus Pilot Pay Dispute Leads to Additional Flight Cancellations

After a long-running dispute over pay involving members of the Irish Air Line Pilots' Association, the union has agreed to suspend industrial action at Aer Lingus. The decision comes after the Labour Court proposed a significant pay increase of 17.75% for pilots over a four-year period. This recommendation includes various percentage increments over the next few years, aiming to address the pilots' demands for fair compensation. With hundreds of flights cancelled due to strike action and a work-to-rule protest, the suspension of industrial action brings hope for smoother operations at the airline. The IALPA will now engage its members in discussions before conducting a ballot on accepting the Labour Court's proposal. This significant development marks a potential resolution to the ongoing conflict between pilots and management at Aer Lingus.
