Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin is currently facing trial for the deadly shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie Rust in Santa Fe. The incident occurred nearly three years ago during a rehearsal of a shooting scene when a prop gun Baldwin was holding accidentally discharged, killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. Despite denying that he pulled the trigger or knew the gun contained live ammunition, Baldwin is charged with involuntary manslaughter and could face up to 18 months in prison if convicted. The trial, which began with a recent pre-trial hearing, is now in the process of jury selection in New Mexico. This high-profile case follows the conviction of the movie's armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, for involuntary manslaughter and a sentence of 18 months in prison.
