Analogue has introduced a new version of their popular Pocket handheld console, this time made entirely of high-quality anodized aluminum. Set to be released on July 15, these limited edition consoles come in white, gray, black, and a Game Boy Advance-inspired indigo color. While the aluminum version offers increased durability and a premium feel, it comes with a price tag of $500, more than double the cost of the standard plastic version. Despite the material difference, both versions of the Pocket will run the same software and be compatible with all cartridges and accessories. The Pocket has received numerous firmware updates since its initial launch in 2021, including OpenFPGA support which allows emulation of various consoles beyond handheld systems. The latest update, version 2.2, introduces support for the Analogue Pocket Adapter Set, expanding compatibility even further.
