Animal-rights protesters targeted a portrait of King Charles by sticking posters on the glass covering the painting in a London art gallery. The artwork, created by Jonathan Yeo, was unharmed during the incident, and no arrests were made. The Animal Rising group claimed responsibility for the action, pasting a picture of Wallace from Wallace and Gromit over the royal portrait to criticize the RSPCA’s welfare standards. The group highlighted King Charles' patronage of the RSPCA as a reason for their protest. Gallery staff confirmed that no damage was done to the painting or the glass. The Metropolitan Police were not called, but visited the gallery in response to social media footage. The gallery chose not to report a crime, and the protestors left the venue peacefully after their demonstration.
