Google has expanded and rebranded its Find My Device network to help users locate not only phones and tablets but also Wear OS devices like the Pixel Watch, supported headphones, and Bluetooth trackers such as Chipolo's One Point. In comparison, Apple's Find My network, which has been around since 2010, can find Apple products like the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and AirTags, as well as third-party devices compatible with the network. In a recent comparison, a test was conducted in San Francisco using both networks to locate hidden trackers. Apple's Find My network proved faster in locating the items compared to Google's Find My Device network, attributing this to the different technologies used in the trackers. Apple's AirTags, backed by ultra wideband technology, provided precise location and separation alerts not available in Google's current setup. As Google's network continues to improve and expand, it remains to be seen how it will match up to Apple's robust Find My network.
