Apple has reportedly been in talks with Meta about partnering on artificial intelligence (AI) integration. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that discussions have included integrating Meta’s AI model into Apple’s recently announced Apple Intelligence. With hopes to leverage Apple’s vast distribution, Meta and other companies working on generative AI products are seeking partnerships. Apple's software leader, Craig Federighi, expressed a desire to work with the best in the industry, citing ChatGPT as the preferred choice for users. Apple has also explored partnerships with AI startups Anthropic and Perplexity for their generative AI solutions. Through collaborating with OpenAI, Apple aims to enhance Siri and its writing tools with advanced AI capabilities. This partnership signals a trend toward industry-leading partnerships in the tech sector, with more companies choosing to integrate third-party AI solutions rather than develop in-house technology.
