A recent report by The Wall Street Journal revealed that Apple and Meta had discussions about collaborating on AI features, specifically Meta's chatbot being integrated into iOS 18. However, Apple reportedly rejected the partnership proposal due to concerns over Meta's privacy policies. Instead, Apple announced a partnership with OpenAI at WWDC 2024 to integrate ChatGPT into Siri and Apple Intelligence in iOS 18. This move allows users to choose a preferred AI platform for answering questions. Apple believes that ChatGPT is the best AI chatbot available, but it still has plans to potentially collaborate with Google in the future. Apple Intelligence will be available later this year in the latest iOS, iPadOS, and macOS updates, starting with US English language support and expanding to other languages and regions over time.
