Apple has announced the discontinuation of its Apple Pay Later service in the United States, effective immediately. Existing users will still be able to manage their loans through the Wallet app. Instead, Apple is focusing on introducing new features to Apple Pay later this year, including access to installment loan offerings from eligible credit or debit cards as well as Affirm. This change comes after the initial launch of Apple Pay Later in the U.S. last year, allowing users to make "buy now, pay later" loans through the Apple Pay checkout experience. The new installment loan features will be available globally, offering more flexibility and choices for users when making purchases online or in-app. These features will be rolled out in multiple countries, expanding the reach of Apple Pay's payment options.
