James Wan’s Atomic Monster and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse are expanding the M3GAN universe with a thrilling spinoff titled SOULM8TE, set for release on Jan. 2, 2026 through Universal. Directed by Kate Dolan, the film follows a man who attempts to transform an Artificially Intelligent android into a sentient partner, only to create a deadly soulmate instead. Drawing inspiration from 1990s domestic thrillers with a modern twist, SOULM8TE explores themes of relationships and loneliness. Wan and Blum are producing, while Dolan rewrote the script originally penned by Rafael Jordan. The project promises to captivate audiences with a seductive and thrilling narrative that delves into the depths of human nature. Additionally, the M3GAN universe is also expanding with the upcoming release of M3GAN 2.0 in 2025.
