Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar, 60, is battling liver failure and Parkinson’s disease, according to Cleveland Magazine. Diagnosed with cirrhosis last spring, Kosar was placed on a liver transplant list and later diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease by an NFL doctor. He admitted that his body “gave out” during an event in December, leading to a hospitalization and blood transfusion. Kosar’s hepatologist mentioned that his condition fluctuates but has shown improvement recently. Despite being in and out of the hospital for blood transfusions and fluid drainage, Kosar remains hopeful. He emphasized the severity of his situation a few months ago, recalling E. Coli blood poisoning and heart issues. Facing a potential liver transplant, Kosar is still fighting to overcome his health challenges.
