Jonathan Kaye, the millionaire investment banker who infamously punched a woman at a Pride event in Brooklyn, has resigned from his position as head of global business services franchise at Moelis & Co. The incident, captured on video and shared widely online, showed Kaye striking an anti-Israel protester in Park Slope, resulting in injuries including a broken nose and lacerations. The woman alleged that the assault was a result of a verbal altercation over the Israel-Hamas conflict. Despite claiming self-defense after being splashed with a liquid by the woman, Kaye faced backlash from onlookers and eventually resigned from his high-paying job. Prior to this incident, he had given interviews promoting skills like resilience and empathy in the industry. The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office is conducting a criminal investigation into the assault.
