ChatGPT Voice Mode Enhancement Facing Delays

OpenAI's highly anticipated upgraded Voice Mode in ChatGPT, initially set for release in late June for a small group of ChatGPT Plus subscribers, has been delayed by at least a month. The advanced Voice Mode, showcased in OpenAI's demo of GPT-4o, promises fast responses and natural interactions. The delay is attributed to the need to further enhance the model's content detection capabilities and overall user experience. OpenAI plans to initiate an alpha rollout for feedback gathering before eventually making the advanced Voice Mode available to all Plus users in the Fall. Despite this setback, the new Mac app for ChatGPT is now accessible to all users. Notably, the fate of the "Sky" voice, removed due to similarities with Scarlett Johansson's voice, remains uncertain. OpenAI continues to strive towards providing cutting-edge AI capabilities for real-time, natural conversations.
