Max has recently unveiled a new teaser trailer for the upcoming DC crime drama series, The Penguin, giving viewers a deeper glimpse into the show's world and characters. Starring Colin Farrell as the infamous Gotham City gangster, the series serves as a spinoff of Matt Reeves' 2022 hit film, The Batman. The show follows The Penguin as he steps up to lead crime in Gotham City following the end of crime boss Carmine Falcone. With showrunner Lauren LeFranc (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) at the helm, the series promises a DC take on The Sopranos. Produced by DC Studios, The Penguin exists in its own universe under the Elseworlds banner, separate from other plans by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Set to premiere this fall, The Penguin aims to offer fans a new perspective on Reeves' gritty Batman world, while also introducing exciting new characters played by a star-studded cast.
