Costco is raising its annual membership fee by over 8% in the U.S. and Canada, the first increase in seven years. Starting September 1, the Gold Star Membership fee will increase by $5 to $65, while the Executive Membership fee will increase by $10 to $130. This change will affect around 52 million paid memberships, with over half being Executive. Costco last raised fees in 2017 and has not specified if current members will be charged the difference or if they can keep the lower price until their next renewal in 2025. The Washington-based wholesale store did not respond to requests for comment. This price increase reflects Costco's continued success and aims to provide high-quality products and services to its loyal members.
