A Michigan-based company is recalling over half a million portable battery chargers sold at Costco across the nation due to reports of overheating and causing residential fires. The myCharge POWER HUB All-In-One 10,000mAh chargers with specific model numbers were sold from January 2022 to November 2023 for approximately $40. The chargers, made in China, have led to five incidents of overheating, including two house fires, and 115 returns to Costco citing issues like melting, smoking, or sparking. Fortunately, no injuries requiring medical attention have been reported. Owners of the recalled chargers are urged to cease usage and contact myCharge for a replacement. The company can be reached via phone, email, or their website for more information on how to proceed with the recall process.
