Country Music Icon Joe Bonsall of The Oak Ridge Boys Passes Away at Age 76 after 50 Years in the Industry

Joe Bonsall, a revered member of the Oak Ridge Boys for over 50 years, passed away at 76 due to complications from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Despite retiring from touring earlier this year, Bonsall had plans to record a new album with the group. The Oak Ridge Boys were famous for hits like “Elvira” and “Bobbie Sue,” achieving both country and pop chart success. Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015, the group continued to be a successful touring act. Bonsall, known for his tenor voice and energetic performances, was praised as a true talent by his peers. Survived by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and sister, Bonsall was remembered for his love of music, family, and faith. In honor of his memory, donations can be made to ALS research institutions.
