A Delta Flight from Detroit to Amsterdam was diverted to JFK Airport in New York after passengers became ill from spoiled food served during the flight. The Main Cabin in-flight meal service was found to be the cause of the issue, resulting in 70 passengers falling sick. Reports indicated that black mold was discovered on some of the food. Delta's Food Safety team is conducting an investigation into the incident and has apologized to affected customers for the inconvenience. Despite the sickness, all passengers refused further medical treatment. The CDC was notified about the situation due to the flight being international. This is the second incident involving a Delta flight being diverted due to illness in a week. The flight is scheduled to depart from JFK airport later in the evening after the necessary investigations have been completed.
