Elon Musk Emerges Victorious Over Former Twitter Employees' Demands for $500 Million Severance

Former Twitter staff seeking $500m in severance from Elon Musk have had their case dismissed by a US judge. The employees alleged that Musk unlawfully withheld severance payments owed to them after taking over the company in 2022. Judge Trina Thompson ruled that the workers had not provided enough evidence to show their claims were protected by federal law. This decision is a victory for Musk, who has faced multiple lawsuits from former staff and vendors since his acquisition of Twitter. The complaint, filed in 2023 by Courtney McMillian, accused Musk's company of only providing one month of pay as severance instead of the promised benefits. While McMillian's team is considering their options, other cases against Twitter are ongoing. Judge Thompson suggested that the workers may still have avenues to pursue their claims elsewhere.
