Patagonia recently made a bold move by asking 90 remote customer service employees to either relocate near one of their seven company hubs or leave the company altogether. This decision comes as the California-based outdoor retailer transitions to a hub model for its customer service team. Employees have until Friday to make their decision, with a relocation deadline of Sept. 30. The company is offering a $4,000 stipend to those who choose to move. The move is part of Patagonia’s efforts to revitalize its company culture post-pandemic and improve service quality. While some employees have already agreed to relocate, others are opting to leave and will receive generous severance packages. This shift impacts roughly 8% of Patagonia’s global workforce and is seen as a strategic step towards enhancing employee integration and performance.
