This feature is designed to be familiar to users who already use shortcuts like Command + Space for Spotlight Search. Once launched, ChatGPT appears as a chat interface overlaid on the screen, providing easy access to a wealth of knowledge. The launch of the macOS app coincided with the announcement of GPT-4o, OpenAI's advanced generative AI model. ChatGPT's desktop app allows users to chat, take and discuss screenshots, upload files, and search through past conversations. This integration with Mac computers is part of a larger deal between OpenAI and Apple, which will also bring ChatGPT to iPhones and iPads later this year.
