Forza Horizon 4 Removal from Digital Stores Coming in December
Tech & AI | June 25, 2024, 1:54 p.m.
On December 15, Forza Horizon 4 will be removed from digital stores, meaning it and its additional content will no longer be available for purchase on the Microsoft Store and Steam. Playground Games cited licensing and agreements with partners as the reason for delisting the game. The final series will run from July 25 to August 22, after which the playlist screen will no longer be accessible, but fans can still earn Forzathon Points through daily and weekly challenges. DLC for the game will be delisted starting today, with only the Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate versions remaining for purchase. Discounts will be offered, including a sale on the Xbox Store on July 14. While Forza Horizon 4 will be unavailable for purchase after December 15, existing owners can still play and re-download the game, with online and multiplayer features remaining functional. Playground Games confirms physical copies will continue to work as usual. Originally released in 2018, Forza Horizon 4 received praise for its open world UK setting and changing seasons. Despite the release of Forza Horizon 5, Forza Horizon 4 remains a compelling racing experience worth picking up before it's gone.
