Renowned French director Benoît Jacquot, 77, has been charged with the rape of actresses Julia Roy and Isild Le Besco, following a flood of #MeToo accusations in France's movie industry. The allegations stem from abusive relationships and sexual abuse that took place several years ago. This comes after actress Judith Godrèche accused Jacquot of raping her when she was just 14 years old, sparking a wave of accusations against him. Roy, 34, and Le Besco, 41, have come forward with their own experiences of abuse at the hands of Jacquot, detailing instances of sexual and physical abuse. Le Besco alleges that Jacquot raped her repeatedly between the ages of 16 and 25, while Roy has accused him of similar mistreatment during their time working together on his films. The charges highlight the ongoing struggle against sexual abuse and harassment in the entertainment industry.
