Google Cast, formerly known as Chromecast, simplifies the process of wirelessly streaming content from various devices, regardless of operating system, to TVs. While the standard has gained popularity, its presence in hotel rooms has been limited until now. LG TVs in hotel rooms will soon support Google Cast, thanks to SONIFI's software integration. Guests can connect their devices to the TV and cast compatible apps using a QR code for pairing. This functionality will be integrated with SONIFI's existing STAYCAST platform, currently available in over 500,000 hotel rooms worldwide. Additionally, LG consumer TVs now support Google Cast. This development coincides with Apple's efforts to bring AirPlay to hotel rooms, highlighting Google Cast's universal compatibility compared to AirPlay's Apple-exclusive nature. The gradual deployment of Google Cast support in hotel rooms is set to begin in Fall 2024.
