Google Maps for Android introduced a speedometer feature in 2019, which is now being rolled out to iPhone users. The speedometer appears in the bottom-left corner while navigating in a vehicle and changes colors if you exceed the speed limit. Google Maps is also adding global speed limit indicators for roads. Google emphasizes that the speedometer is for informational purposes only and external factors may affect its accuracy. Users can easily toggle the speedometer on or off in the settings. The update is currently available for Google Maps on iOS with version 6.123.0 but not yet on Android Auto. Overall, this new feature enhances safety and convenience for users while navigating on the road with Google Maps.
