Google is enhancing the overheating warnings on Pixel devices to provide more detailed and helpful information to users. Currently, the notification simply states that "Some features are limited while phone cools down," but with the upcoming update, users can expect more descriptive messages without the need to visit an online support article for clarification. The new warnings will provide instructions on how to help cool down the device, such as avoiding direct sunlight and closing battery-intensive apps. The update includes a "pre_emergency_notification" and a "pre_emergency_dialog" that explain the steps the Pixel is taking to cool down, like limiting performance speed and disabling the 5G network. These warnings will appear when the device reaches specific temperatures, with an "emergency" state entered at 125.6 degrees Fahrenheit. While the update has not been widely rolled out yet, it promises optimizations for Adaptive Battery functionalities and improved overheating alerts in the future.
