Tech & AI | June 18, 2024, 12:34 p.m.
After the successful I/O 2024 event, the Android 15 preview cycle continues with the release of Beta 3 for Pixel devices. This update brings Platform Stability with finalized APIs (level 35) and system behaviors. Developers are urged to start their final testing and development work to ensure app compatibility for the final release. Passkey sign-in has been simplified to a single step using fingerprint, face recognition, or screen lock, with account details now displayed on the same sheet as authentication.
Beta 3 addresses several developer-reported issues, including fixes for Bluetooth problems and system crashes. Users on supported devices can download the update via the Android Beta Program or flash/sideload it manually. Those in the Android 14 QPR beta program will automatically receive the Android 15 Beta 3 update. Feedback can be shared through Android Beta Feedback and the Android Beta community on Reddit.
