Hiram Kasten: Remembering the Life and Legacy of the Comedian and TV Actor at 71

Comedian and actor Hiram Kasten passed away at age 71 after a long battle with illness, including prostate cancer. Born in the Bronx, he pursued his dream of acting by transitioning to stand-up comedy in New York City in the 1970s. He formed lasting friendships with comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Reiser, and Larry Miller while performing at iconic clubs such as The Comic Strip and Catch a Rising Star. Kasten later moved to Los Angeles where he appeared in TV shows like Seinfeld, Mad About You, and Everybody Loves Raymond. He also entertained audiences on cruise ships and in Las Vegas. Survived by his wife, daughter, and extended family, funeral services will be held in New York with a memorial service planned for Los Angeles.
