Hori, a renowned gaming accessory maker, has unveiled an officially licensed Steam controller set to release in Japan on October 31. This collaboration with Valve marks the first controller licensed by the company since discontinuing the Steam controller five years ago. The controller features advanced capabilities such as gyro and rapid-fire functions, customizable inputs, and touch sensors on the sticks. It includes a dedicated Steam button for easy access to Big Picture Mode and the Steam menu while in-game. Although the controller supports Steam input and X-input modes, certain features like gyro and stick touch are exclusive to Steam mode. Hori will also provide an app for customization of various controller functions independently of Steam's configurator. With a price tag of around $50, the controller will be available in four colors, with additional PC controllers set to launch later this summer. This partnership with Hori reflects Valve's commitment to expanding controller options for gamers on Steam.
