Howard University has made the decision to strip rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs of his honorary degree following the release of CCTV footage showing him hitting an ex-girlfriend in a hotel hallway. The historically-black university in Washington DC cited his behavior as "incompatible with Howard University’s core values and beliefs." The rapper apologized for his actions and claimed to have sought professional help and therapy. The university also announced the termination of a scholarship in his name and a $1m donation made by his foundation. This decision comes amidst multiple lawsuits filed against Diddy, accusing him of sexual and physical abuse. While some have been settled, Diddy has denied all allegations. A federal investigation into sex trafficking has also brought further scrutiny to the rapper. His lawyer maintains his innocence amidst the controversy.
