Huawei is rumored to be unveiling a new Kirin chipset, the Kirin 9100, later this year for their Mate 70 series. Despite previous disappointing releases due to trade bans preventing cutting-edge technology procurement, this upcoming chip is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It will be mass-produced on a 5nm node from SMIC, promising significant performance improvements and similar interface fluidity to devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Transitioning to HarmonyOS NEXT could also enhance the Kirin chipset's performance, offering better power efficiency and memory utilization. This breakthrough in technology development could potentially bridge the performance gap between Huawei and its competitors. Although specific performance leaks are not yet available, the anticipation for Huawei's future releases is high.
