IATSE and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have reached a tentative agreement on the Area Standards Agreement, preventing a potential strike this summer. The deal, along with the Basic Agreement reached earlier, covers around 50,000 members of 13 West Coast Locals and 20,000 members of IATSE's 23 Locals across the nation. The agreement will be reviewed by members and signatories before finalization. However, negotiations with the Teamsters are still ongoing, with their contract set to expire on July 31. Both parties have expressed reluctance to extend the deadline for further talks. The agreements mark significant progress in securing labor deals in Hollywood, ensuring stability for workers in the industry.
