The investigation into the death of Matthew Perry is reaching its conclusion, with multiple individuals being linked to the fatal amount of ketamine found in his blood. The Los Angeles Times reported that prosecutors are close to deciding whether charges will be filed against those involved in Perry's acquisition of the drug. The investigation, involving the LAPD, DEA, and U.S. Postal Service, is focused on tracing Perry's illegal drug procurement. Perry was found drowned in his hot tub after consuming a lethal dose of ketamine, causing cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression. Although he had been undergoing ketamine therapy, the high levels of the drug in his system at the time of death remain unexplained. A psychiatrist and anesthesiologist were the only medical professionals treating Perry in October, as stated in the medical examiner's report.
