Apple's latest software updates, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, bring new math features to the forefront. In addition to Math Notes, iOS 18 now includes expanded calculator-like functionality, allowing users to perform basic math and conversions directly in any text field using the keyboard. This feature, as pointed out by Ryan Jones on Twitter, displays the answer in the suggestion bar above the keyboard as you input the equation. Users have the option to either "show their work" by entering the equation and solution or simply display the answer. The functionality supports basic math operations, conversions for currencies and temperatures, and more. While iOS 18 is currently in developer beta, a public beta is anticipated in July, followed by a wider release later in the year.
