Kate Middleton, honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, apologized in an emotional letter for missing a major rehearsal for the Trooping the Colour event. The annual ceremonial Horse Guards Parade in London celebrates King Charles’ official birthday parade in June. Middleton expressed pride in the Regiment and regret for not being able to participate in the Colonel’s review. Due to her ongoing recovery, she will be replaced by Lieutenant General James Bucknall. It remains unclear if she will attend the Trooping the Colour, but she is reportedly considering it. Middleton has been largely out of the public eye since revealing her cancer diagnosis, and it's uncertain if she will return to her previous role. The Irish Guards were deeply touched by Middleton’s heartfelt letter, expressing their best wishes for her recovery. Despite missing the St. Patrick’s Day parade, Middleton remains dedicated to her role as their Colonel.
