Team USA star Kevin Durant missed the first two days of training camp in Las Vegas due to a calf strain, but the injury is not believed to be serious. Though Durant has done light individual work, he has not participated in full team drills or scrimmages. The team is being cautious with Joel Embiid and Kawhi Leonard, who are dealing with knee issues, but both have been practicing. Jayson Tatum missed camp for personal reasons but will join the team soon. Durant's availability for the first exhibition game against Canada is uncertain. The final roster for the Olympics will be submitted soon, with no concerns about Durant needing to be replaced. Despite some rustiness in the early scrimmages, coach Steve Kerr is pleased with the team's progress in getting to know each other and finding effective lineups.
